The San Antonio Baseball Umpires Association is always accepting new applicants for membership.  There are not specific requirement for becoming a member of our Association other than an appreciation for the game of baseball and a commitment to learn and improve year after year.  Prior experience as an umpire, while helpful, is not required.

In preparation of the high school baseball season, the new member training class is held in January.  The high school season typically begins the second week of February and runs through June.

All new members are encouraged to attend all chapter meetings and are required to attend 80% of the new member training classes.  After the training classes, all officials must pass the annual TASO baseball certification exam to become eligible to be assigned to high school games.
